This course is provided to educate participants about the NSW WorkCover Guides for Evaluation of Permanent Impairment. These guides are based on the American Medical Association Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment (fifth edition).

WorkCover WA has advised that for workers compensation injuries after 14 November 2005, evaluation of permanent impairment is to be done in accordance with The WorkCover Guides for the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment. The assessment is to be done by a registered approved medical specialist who has undertaken the requisite training. This course meets the part of the requirement for the requisite training. Why should I come to training if I have been trained elsewhere?

The NSW WorkCover Guides are based on the American Medical Association Guides (fifth edition). There are significant differences in all modules, both from the AMA Guides (fourth edition) and from the MAA Guides.
