MFA is mandatory for all WorkCover WA Online users. If you have not already registered, you will be prompted with a red alert message asking you to “Protect your account”.
Enter a mobile or landline* phone number, including the area code, then click Submit.
This number will be used to send you a code via SMS (for mobile) or voice call (for landline). Enter the code you receive, then Submit.
You are now registered for MFA.
*(Please note, multi-factor authentication against landline numbers which have an automated message service is not possible. Please use a landline number without this feature or preferably, a mobile phone number).
If you have entered an incorrect password or MFA code three (3) times, you will be locked out of WorkCover WA Online. You will need to wait 10 minutes and try again with the correct password and MFA code or reset your password. You will not be able to re-enter or reset your password during this time.
No, emails are not considered secure for MFA purposes. A mobile or landline phone number is required.

No. Your email and chosen password authenticates you to WorkCover WA as the person you claim to be. You must not disclose your password to any other person.
Transactions received by this system, activated by the authorised user’s account details, are assumed to have originated from that user.

Your account will need to be ‘associated’ with a service provider.
The available associations in WorkCover WA Online are:
- Audiometric Officers
- Audiometrists
- Audiologists
- Insurers
- Representatives
- Self-Insurers
- Workplace Rehabilitation Providers
This grants you permission to conduct business activities on their behalf through WorkCover WA Online.
You can submit a request for association with a service provider under My Account on the WorkCover WA Online homepage.
Select Request Association and a form will appear requiring you to select one of the following:
- Workplace rehabilitation Provider (WRP) and the WRP name
- Insurer and the Insurer name
- Self-Insurer and the Self-Insurer name.
Submit the form and your Local Security Officer will approve your request.
Yes, you can request associations with multiple service providers by repeating the Request Association process.
Requests to associate with a service provider are completed by your Local Security Officer (LSO). If your request is still pending, ask your LSO to review and process your request.
Go to the WorkCover WA Online homepage and select My Account, then My Associations. You can change the service provider by selecting Switch.
Please contact your nominated Local Security Officer who can disassociate your user account.

The Local Security Officer (LSO) is a nominated user for a service provider who is responsible for administering and maintaining the staff user accounts for WorkCover WA Online. Some service providers may not have a nominated LSO.
The LSO can:
- Approve or disapprove requests to associate with their service provider
- Disassociate existing user accounts with their service provider
- Grant or revoke approval for an LSO.
Where there is no represented Local Security Officer (LSO), a service provider must nominate an individual. This individual must raise an account on WorkCover WA online and request LSO access using the form on Contact us or contact CASonline@workcover.wa.gov.au to request a Local Security Officer Form.
WorkCover WA will process the request and notify the nominated individual.
Yes, you can request associations with multiple service providers by repeating the Request Association process.
To change access between service providers, go to the WorkCover WA Online homepage, select My Account, then My Associations, then Switch.
Yes, a service provider can have more than one LSO.

To approve a request, select Approve, then Confirm.
