Event description:

Enrol in this 1 day nationally recognised Injury Management Training Programme for Employers which will cover the essential elements under The Workers’ Compensation & Injury Management Act (1981).

It is now mandatory for employers to implement injury management processes in line with the new Workers’ Compensation Code of Practice (Injury Management) 2005. This training programme will provide you with a framework and tools to meet requirements under the WA Workers’ Compensation System.

The training will include:

  • An overview of the Workers’ Compensation reforms for workplaces.
  • A review of the Workers’ Compensation Code of Practice (Injury Management) 2005.
  • Methods for establishing injury management policies & procedures in accordance with the code.
  • Practical skills and knowledge for developing, implement and monitoring a return to work programme.
  • Methods for liaising with medical professionals and obtaining necessary information.
  • An insight into Workers’ Compensation claims and how they are analysed and estimated.

Psychosocial factors (Yellow Flags) that influence the outcomes of injury management programmes and methods for preventing or overcoming them.

National Recognition:
Successful completion will achieve competence in the unit: 'Manage rehabilitation/return to work programs BSBHR509A' forming part of a Diploma in Business (Human Resources) BSB50801.
