Insurers

Best Practice Guidelines

WorkCover WA acknowledges the achievement of Western Australia’s licensed workers’ compensation insurers in collaboratively developing a framework for the management of claims made by workers following a work related injury.

The Best Practice Guidelines 2008 set parameters for the insurers to follow and by doing so provides consistency across insurers for injured workers and employers with respect to processes associated with claims management.

Data Supply

The Q1 specification replaces the Edition E4 specification and is primarily designed for insurers and self-insurers, to enable them to provide the data required by WorkCover WA. Users of the data will also find it useful for its description of the definitions used and validations performed.

The E4 specification contains information to enable insurers to provide policy and claim information to WorkCover WA. These specifications allow insurers to convey the information supplied by Forms 16, 17, 22 & 23 electronically.

Application Guidelines

Performance Monitoring

The following documents have been produced by WorkCover WA to evaluate the performance of approved insurers and self-insurers:

Standard Workers' Compensation Policy

All insurers are required to issue workers' compensation policies in an approved form. WorkCover WA has issued a standard Employer Indemnity Policy which is the basis of all workers' compensation policies incepting on or after 30 June 2007.

Checklist for Memoranda of Agreement or 92f Deeds

The following checklist is a useful tool to use when completing documents relating to Memoranda of Agreement or 92f Deeds. The checklist will assist by ensuring a compliant agreement is filed and therefore reduced the need to return documents for amendments. It will also enable faster processing and registration of agreements.
