Consolidated Conciliation Practice Notes
In consultation with the Dispute Services User Group since the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023 came into effect on 1 July 2024, it was identified that it would be of assistance to stakeholders for the Director to provide practical guidance to avoid rejection or delays in processing of applications and to ensure that conciliation proceedings run smoothly and professionally.
Given the large variety of applications that can be made, the Director has now issued Consolidated Conciliation Practice Notes, which set out:
- the minimum required supporting documentation to be lodged with applications for conciliation
- specific requirements for certain common application types
- processes and expectations to assist in achieving the objects of conciliation
- the practice of the Conciliation Service.
Practice Notes 1, 2A, 3 and 4A are revoked from 5pm on Tuesday 3 March 2026.
CAS participants and representatives operating in the Conciliation Service are encouraged to familiarise with the Conciliation Practice Notes and to ensure that applications, attendance and communication in the Conciliation Service meet the requirements.
