WorkCover WA Conference 2025 – Amplifying Impact Across the Scheme
On Tuesday 16 September, WorkCover WA proudly hosted its most impactful Conference yet, welcoming over 650 delegates to Optus Stadium for a day of connection, insight and inspiration. The WorkCover WA Conference 2025 was officially opened by the Hon. Simone McGurk MLA, Minister for Industrial Relations, and expertly guided by our energetic host, General Manager Regulatory Services, Rebecca Harris.
Centred around the theme Amplifying Impact, the Conference explored how collective leadership, empathy and innovation are shaping the future of workers compensation and injury management in Western Australia.
Delegates were captivated by keynote speaker Simon Kuestenmacher, Director and Co-founder of The Demographics Group, who shared data-driven insights into the Western Australian economy through a demographic lens. His presentation forecasted how the coming decade will reshape the world of work, offering practical perspectives on how we can prepare for and embrace the opportunities ahead.
Jelena Dokic, Australian author, commentator and tennis champion, delivered a powerful and deeply personal presentation on resilience, recovery, overcoming adversity and the importance of compassionate support systems.
Throughout the day, expert speakers and panellists offered thought-provoking perspectives on navigating complexity, leading with empathy and adapting to change. Sessions explored how diverse expertise, and authentic storytelling can drive meaningful outcomes for workers, employers and service providers alike.
WorkCover WA CEO, Chris White, provided a comprehensive update on the modernised State of the Scheme, marking one year since the commencement of the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023. He outlined WorkCover WA’s strategic priorities and reaffirmed our commitment to remaining responsive to the evolving needs of the workforce, ensuring the scheme continues to deliver stability, support and impact.
The Conference also featured a bustling marketplace where delegates connected with industry peers and service providers to explore ways to drive continuous improvement.
A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, panellists and attendees for your enthusiasm and commitment to driving positive change. The conversations and connections forged at the WorkCover WA Conference 2025 will continue to amplify impact across our scheme, long after the final session concluded.
