APIA Product Launch

WorkCover WA is pleased to release our newly developed Approved Permanent Impairment Assessor Standards of Practice (Standards).

The Standards clarify expectations for APIAs relating to professional conduct and assessment practices, supporting consistent and transparent permanent impairment assessments across the Western Australian workers compensation scheme. Developed in consultation with an expert reference group, the Standards complement the newly revised Guidelines for the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment (Guidelines) by providing detailed guidance on their practical application within the regulatory environment.

The Standards are intended to support APIAs in delivering high quality, defensible assessments, and to provide clarity for workers, employers, and other scheme participants through the permanent impairment process.
