WorkCover WA Return to Work Conference 2017
On 3 and 4 May 2017, 350 Western Australian workers’ compensation and injury management professionals will come together at Pan Pacific Hotel in Perth to discuss return to work challenges and best practice, and inspire new initiatives.
The aim of the WorkCover WA Return to Work Conference (the Conference) is to promote positive pathways for returning injured workers to work after a workplace injury. The program will present solutions to common problems faced by workplace rehabilitation providers, workers, employers, medical practitioners and insurers.
Over the two days, the Conference will showcase dynamic presentations from leading thinkers and experts, including:
• Dr Norman Swan, the host of The Health Report on ABC Radio National, and Tonic on ABC News24
• Dr Jordan Nguyen, a biomedical engineer who will explore the future of health technologies
• Dr Rory Gallagher, the Managing Director of The Behavioural Insights Team, who will discuss how nudge theory is being used to influence widespread behavioural changes.
Other notable speakers with a focus on contemporary work practices include specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapists Dr Darren Beales and Dr Tim Mitchell, Dr Roger Lai from Ability OPN and Dr Peter Connaughton from the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
