WorkCover WA’s launch of new certificates of capacity and online resource for GPs
WorkCover WA is introducing new certificates of capacity and an online resource for general practitioners (GPs), WorkCover WA’s gpsupport.
On 25 March 2014, regulatory amendments were made to accommodate the new certificates of capacity which are due to take effect from 1 July 2014.
The new certificates of capacity will replace the existing medical certificates and will be available to scheme stakeholders from software providers and online at gpsupport.workcover.wa.gov.au from 1 July 2014.
WorkCover WA’s gpsupportwebsite will be an information resource for GPs delivering services to injured workers in Western Australia (WA). This new website will provide GPs with important information on the new certificates, evidence-based injury management and workers’ compensation in WA.
WorkCover WA will be hosting a number of events for GPs and other scheme stakeholders, including:
- Launch event and GP workshop – Hyatt Regency Perth – 8 May 2014
- GP workshop – WorkCover WA – 28 May 2014
- Live webinars – online – 12 and 26 June 2014
These events will provide stakeholders with the opportunity to find out more information on the changes.
