Independent review of the Conciliation and Arbitration Services
The independent review of Western Australia’s workers’ compensation dispute resolution system is now available.
The review, conducted by Professor Tania Sourdin of the Australian Centre for Justice Innovation at Monash University, found that the Conciliation and Arbitration Services (CAS) meet core objectives to be timely, cost effective, fair and accessible. Professor Sourdin also found that most stakeholders consider that CAS works well.
Opportunities to ensure that the dispute resolution system continues to meet objectives are identified by Professor Sourdin, and WorkCover WA is already working to implement many of these.
