List of Approved Insurers

See the table below for insurance companies approved by WorkCover WA to underwrite workers' compensation insurance in Western Australia. Additionally, individual employers have met the criteria to manage the workers' compensation of their own employees - they are known as ‘exempt’ or ‘self’ insurers.

Best practice

The Licensed Insurer Best Practice Guidelines 2010 (PDF - 230kb) were developed collaboratively by licensed workers compensation insurers and provide consistent processes for injured workers and employers with respect to claims management.

Standard workers’ compensation policy

All insurers are required to issue workers' compensation policies in an approved form. WorkCover WA has issued a Standard Employer Indemnity Policy (PDF - 70kb) which is the basis of all workers' compensation policies.

Checklist for Memoranda of Agreement or 92f Deeds

The Checklist for Memoranda of Agreement or 92f Deeds (PDF - 44kb) contains points to consider when completing and before filing these documents with the Director, Conciliation Service. Observing these points will assist in ensuring they are processed and registered in a timely manner.

Data specification

The data requirements set out in the Q1 Specification Version 1-5-1b (PDF - 1.74MB) arise from WorkCover WA’s obligations to monitor and recommend changes to the Western Australian workers’ compensation scheme, to promote employment safety and injury management, and to collect data that complies with the National Data Set specification.
