Audiometric Officers

How do I become an Approved Audiometric Officer?

*New* Audiologist Registration

Audiologists wishing to undertake audiometric assessments for the purposes of workers’ compensation within Western Australia are required to be registered with WorkCover WA.

1. Complete an Audiometric Officer course

Individuals interested in becoming accredited Audiometric Officers (hearing testers) with the capacity to test the hearing of workers according to the requirements of the WorkCover WA Noise Induced Hearing Loss legislation and Mine Workers Health Surveillance assesment program are requested to contact one of the following course providers.

2. Complete an Approved Audiometric Officer Online training course

WorkCover WA presents a two-hour training course designed to provide Audiologists, Approved Audiometric Officers and administration/support officers with the necessary skills to submit air conduction hearing test results with WorkCover WA through the Approved Audiometric Officers Online (AAO) application.

The course is conducted on the second week of each month, the next course will be held on 13 August 2008.
