The core competencies required of vocational rehabilitation practitioners operating within the workers' compensation system in Western Australia are outlined in the WorkCover WA publication, Competency Standards for Approved Vocational Rehabilitation Providers.

It is intended the standards will assist:

• approved vocational rehabilitation providers in recruitment, training and professional development; and
• tertiary education institutions in the preparation of graduates who may work within the workers' compensation system.
