The Premier, the Hon Alan Carpenter MLA, recently announced the winners of awards for Excellence in Public Sector Management.

WorkCover WA, along with the WorkSafe Division of DOCEP and the Small Business Development Corporation were announced as winners in the 'Better Services - Large and Small Organisations' category. The Agencies were awarded for their collaboration on the innovative ThinkSafe Small Business Assistance Program.

Over 1000 small businesses have benefited from the program which provides a free and confidential three-hour session with an independent safety consultant, delivered at their premises and tailored to suit their business. WorkSafe is responsible for the development, coordination  and delivery of the program, while WorkCover WA provides funding support and strategic input.

The program has expanded this year to incorporate some elements of injury management.
