The Department of Health has advised WorkCover WA that the State Government has approved amendments to fees related to compensable and motor vehicle third party insurance patients.

Schedule 1, clause 18 of the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981 provides for hospital charges for the maintenance of an injured worker to be regulated under the Hospitals and Health Services Act 1927, administered by the Department of Health.

The Hospitals (Services Charges for Compensable Patients) Amendment Determination (No. 2) 2009 was published in the Government Gazette on 23 June 2009. The charges will have effect from 1 July 2009.
