Introduction to WorkCover WA is well worthwhile say delegates
The Introduction to WorkCover WA workshop which took place on Tuesday 14 August was attended by more than 20 delegates from a range of industry sectors including the legal and insurance fields, as well as a state government agency.
From the feedback received following the event, the majority of stakeholders agreed that the session was a valuable learning opportunity.
Organised as an introduction to the agency, the event included a number of presentations to outline the work undertaken by WorkCover WA and the roles of the different divisions within the organisation.
Raelene Ormsby, Project Officer within the Corporate Relations Branch, explains that the information sessions were introduced in November 2006 in response to requests from a range of stakeholders and are held on a quarterly basis.
“We are very pleased with how these sessions have developed and are finding that delegates are very positive about their value,” she said.
“Attendees consistently report that they now have a better understanding of the different areas within WorkCover and are more informed of the wide variety of services available.”
WorkCover WA is committed to increasing the understanding of its role in workers’ compensation and injury management and will continue to provide these introductory sessions into the future. Bookings are already being taken for the next session, scheduled for 13 November 2007.
