Consultation Process - Draft Revised Costs Determination

The Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Amendment Act 2011 establishes a new dispute services model for workers' compensation disputes. The new model comes into effect on 1 December 2011.

As part of that process the Costs Committee, as constituted by section 269 of the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981, has met to consider a revised Costs Determination that reflects the proposed dispute resolution process. The Costs Determination fixes maximum costs for legal, agent and related services in the resolution of disputes.

Submissions on the draft Costs Determination are invited from interested parties.

Due to the implementation date of 1 December 2011 for the new dispute services, the available timeframe for the consultation process is limited and written submissions will be considered provided they are received by the close of business Monday, 3 October 2011.

Submissions can be either posted to 2 Bedbrook Place, Shenton Park WA 6008 or sent via email to harley.white@workcover.wa.gov.au.
