Introduction to WorkCover WA is well worthwhile say delegates

More than 20 delegates from a range of industry groups attended the Introduction to WorkCover WA information session on 11 February 2008.

From the feedback received following the event, the majority of stakeholders agreed that the session was a valuable learning opportunity.

Participants’ feedback from the February session included:

“It helped me understand the scope and services provided by WorkCover WA”

“It was interesting to hear about the scheme and the changes that have taken place since 2005”

Organised as an introduction to the Agency, the event included a number of presentations to outline the work undertaken by WorkCover WA and the roles of the different divisions.

Megan Burley, Acting Manager of the Corporate Relations Branch, explains that the information sessions were introduced in November 2006 in response to requests from a range of stakeholders and are held on a quarterly basis.

“We are very pleased with how these sessions have developed and are finding that delegates are very positive about their value. Attendees consistently report that they now have a better understanding of the different areas within WorkCover WA and are more informed of the wide variety of services available, ” she said.

WorkCover WA is committed to increasing the understanding of its role in workers’ compensation and injury management and will continue to provide these introductory sessions into the future. Due to popular demand the May session is fully booked. Call WorkCover WA on 9388 5555 now to register for the August and November sessions.
