Event description:

Delivered by IFAP, an independent, not-for-profit organisation, the Injury Management Coordinator Course aims to provide participants with general information about injury management, as well as the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981.

On completion of this course, participants should:

  • understand, and be able to apply various provisions in workers’ compensation law
  • have a basic understanding of the difference between statutory and common law
  • be able to access and understand the dispute resolution process
  • have a detailed understanding of the injury management statutory requirements including the ‘Code of Practice’
  • be able to design and apply components of an injury management system training strategy.

Participants will be provided with an understanding through practical application of the legal requirements involved in the injury management process. The course explores the important issues of workplace culture, managing difficult workers’ compensation cases, data analysis and reporting.
