IFAP are proud to annouce its latest Injury Management course, Developed in consultation with Approved Vocational Rehabilitation Providers (AVRPs) this new training course was designed to introduce the law of Workers' Compensation and Injury Management to AVRPs.

About the course:

This one day course introduces AVRPs to critical legal and injury management principles and then reinforces their introduction by providing challenging case studies that require application of the principles. Key elements of the course include:

• Understanding the role of WorkCover WA;
• Introducing and explaining applicable sections of the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981 (the Act);
• Practice in applying applicable sections of the Act'
• Understanding the legislation pertinent to the role of an AVRP; and
• Understanding the main steps in the dispute resolution process.

About the trainer:

Garry Claxton was a lawyer in the workers' compensation jurisdiction who has developed and trained IFAP's highly successful Injury Management Coordinators course for the last two years. He has also developed and trained several other highly successful Workers' Compensation and OSH related courses. Garry has an MBA from Curtin University and is currently working towards a PhD.
